I love the Simpsons, this is something I can't express enough. Like, I drop whatever I'm doing if a older episode comes on and mouth the dialogue word for word. So when I saw that Universal Orlando is making a Springfield theme park I lost it. I don't care if I have to hitchhike, I'M GOING!

Practically everything I had planned last week got put on hold this week. My homemade bath bombs funds were replaced by wedding plans (Canada 2014!) and my city bus tour got rained out so I get to go next week.

Two great things happened though, I finally understand why people love coffee so much. I was dreading going to the dentist and I got bored and drank one of my brothers MRE Cappuccinos and it gave me such a rush. I used to think that it was just for keeping you awake till I read that caffeine can actually lower your chances of becoming depressed!

The other great, amazing, awesome, thing that happened was, WE FINALLY GOT A NEW CAR!!! This is a huge deal, we used to have a 1992 Ford Tempo Coupe that was on its last leg and we traded up to a freaking 2013 Honda Ridgeline Sport. We went from Alpo to filet mignon basically. I have two goals for this truck, go to Steak n Shakes drive in and get a 7x7 burger and pass out hating myself for eating it in the backseat... and to go camping with it. To lay in the truck bed under the stars next to a fire sounds nothing short of dreamy.

My All Time Favorite Purchases
Clockwise: Strawberry Feels Forever, Space Girl, Sexy Peel
It's been a stressful week for me and to keep my mind off of things I finally caught up with Elementary (so so good). I had to get up and walk around to gain composure during the ending of Dead Man's Switch... and yes that's where I got my blog title from. My wish for season two is more Ms. Hudson, Clyde, and bee reference t-shirts.

Another stress reliever for me besides snarky English detectives, are Lush items. I adore Lush but their items are pretty pricey so in between Elementary episodes loading I was watching DIY Bath Bomb videos on YouTube. It looks so easy and I'm ordering the items needed I can't get in store Saturday.

Speaking of online orders, I ordered my tickets for a bus tour around the city. It's done by the Chicago Trolley and Double Decker Company and looks really neat. You can get off the trolley and explore the landmarks! Fingers crossed the weather agrees next week.

Riot Fest 2013 is going to leave me broke. I was happy just knowing it was in Humboldt Park again, I was taken off my feet when it was announced Blink 182 and Fall Out Boy are the headliners.

I signed up for their street team to earn my tickets, I hope I'm selected... or someone decides they hate the lineup and gives their pass away like last year.

I wanted to go to the park yesterday but it was so hot. And today's going to be hotter. I do not fare well in the heat. So I'm stuck inside wrapped in a cold towel reading the Hunger Games.

Kinda a good thing I didn't go out yet. My hair's going through that weird stage where it's all root and a post pixie cut mullet. Got to get it done soon because my trusty headbands aren't able to cover my roots anymore.

So the show was pretty amazing, I became the aggressive first to the door fan girl I dreamed I would be.

I got picked up by Megan and her friend in a limo and felt really classy. I've seen people dropped off in limos before while waiting in line and always thought it was really cool.

We got to see their tour bus parked in front of the MacMall which we were held until the show started. I flew out with only two people in front of me and had to run up four flights of stairs, it was totally worth it. The only people in front of me were already in the studio (press I guess). They played three songs which isn't that bad given it was a free concert. Wish they played 'Save Rock and Roll' which would've been epic with the chant at the end.

After the show we hung around JBTV and checked out the acts that were here before. We wanted to meet Jerry but he was busy so we had to leave. Ended up standing by the tour bus because Megan wanted to give the guys a letter but some 'fans' rushed them as soon as they came out so she left the letters on the tour bus door.

Then we went to Rock and Roll McDonalds and I had to sit in the Sherlock chair. There was a amazing view of across the street where Rainforest Cafe and Hard Rock Cafe are. I love people watching in downtown. We ended up lounging outside on the Hard Rocks patio waiting for Megan to score some tickets for the show at the Riviera. Then on the way home I ranted about Doctor Who for twenty minutes straight and had a cute boy make eyes with me on his way out. So all in all it was a good day.

Forgot I had a blog... oops?

Anywho, I got invited to a taping of JBTV a few days ago and I can't contain myself! I'm GOING SEE FALL OUT BOY FOR FREE! It's today at 3 and I spent the entire morning scurrying around for something to wear and putting on makeup. I get so nervous before a show, my first concert was a disaster and turned me off of seeing live acts for awhile. I was dehydrated and surrounded by overzealous suburban high schoolers. I'm far more prepared now and I'm far more familiar with the band playing so here goes nothing.

(I hope this is a poster at the merch tent)

I'M GOING
FOR FREE!!!

I remember when I had heard the news that it was happening in Humboldt Park, I was driving with Megan and we started to scream in the Target parking lot. See, we both had to travel to venues way out of our way before, so this being held in Humboldt Park is unheard of. This park is in walking distance, we could go on Saturday walk to my place when we're done and wake up early to go again on Sunday.

For the past three years I've fallen ass backwards in luck when it comes to concerts. In 2010 The Dresden Dolls had a reunion tour (a band I thought I would never get to see once they split), 2011 I got to see My Chemical Romance and Blink 182 (another band I had lost hope in seeing), now I get to go to a freaking CARNIVAL in my NEIGHBORHOOD for FREE.

Elementary: It's a modern take on Arthur Conan Doyles' Sherlock Holmes, I just finished watching the pilot and I just love it. I'm worried about the attitude coming from the BBC Sherlock fandom though. I mean, when that was premiered people insisted that it was cashing in on the Robert Downey Jr. film, the parallels are breaking my heart. Ugh, I love all three, why can't all my fandoms get along?

Posting in a blog in general: It's been too long since I've had a proper one. I never post personal text post on tumblr so this is a nice place to let out what's on my mind. I've been wanting to do this for a while and I cringe at all the missed opportunities to dump pictures and post thoughts I was having at the time during events and what-not. Oh, well.
